One might also point out similar things could have been said about
McDonald's, or Starbucks, in their respective fields, yet they are
doing well in Japan.

They oversold their brand, and have been subject to SEC rules when they
went public.

Any oblique critique appreciated as well.
Insightful comments like "I don't like it, therefore it will fail" are
on a par with the above-mentioned Japanese bureaucrats who, esteemed
though they may be, were remarkably inaccurate in their assessments of
what would do well in Japan.
