First of all a victor does not call his actions which killed hundreds
of thousands civilians "war crimes".  Secondly, you may not have been
taught of the episode during WWII as a student.  Neither did students
in Taiwan or Korea.  But literature about it is abundant.  There was
no effort from anyone to hide it or says it was a fabrication.  This
is a far cry from what the Japanese did regarding the Rape of Nanking
and other atrocities against the allies civilians and armed
personnell.
