Market Garden is already on your reading list. One of the point you need 
to investigate is the motivation for Operation Market Garden, points to 
note 1) how likely was it that an operation in the south (Patton) would 
have been successful (look at a map); and   2) (American) political 
pressure to use the large and expensive force of paratroopers doing nothing.
