大丈夫ですか？

高校の三年生の終わり近くに、我々はCPR（心肺
機能蘇生法）のコースを受けることを、要求された。
授業は、練習ように、有名なマネキンの犠牲者、
“蘇生アニィ”を使用した。
多くのモデルの中で典型的なこの“蘇生アニィ”は
運搬用の箱のなかにやっと納まるトルソー（顔と胴
体）だけのものでした。

授業は、グループに別れて練習を始めました。
教えられた通り、級友の一人が人形をそっと揺すり
『大丈夫ですか？』と訊きました。彼は、それから、
呼吸を聞くために、マネキンの口の上に耳を置き
ました。突然、彼は教師の方を向いて大声で
叫びました。
『彼女は、両足が無いような感じですと言ってます』
