決闘

アァロンはある日、ボコボコに殴られ，血を流し、
擦り傷をつくって学校から帰って来た。彼の父が
一体なにがあったのかを尋ねた。
『えーと、お父さん、事の次第は次の通りです』と
アァロンは始めた。『ラリィに決闘を申し込んだん
です。決闘がどんなものかご存知でしょう。僕は
武器を選択するように言ったのです』

『うん、うん』と父は言った。『それは，公正に思え
るよ』
『そうです。しかし、姉を選ぶなんて思ってもみな
かったんです』
