彼女は別々に（足が）離れる（離される）のが
好きだった。

マリアは、イタリアの婦人だが、とても、宗教的
人だった。彼女は結婚した時、避妊用具を使用
するのを拒んだ。
というのは、バースコントロールは神の意志に反する
と感じたからでした。彼女と夫は１７人の子供が
いた。
マリアの夫は、病気になり，亡くなった。時は過ぎても
彼女は精力的に生きた。そして別の男と結婚した。
再び，彼女は宗教的信念の為に避妊具を使用する
のを拒絶した。
彼女と二度目の夫は１５人の子供をもうけた。
再び、マリアは夫を亡くした。夫が死んで間もなく
彼女も又他界した。墓地での式典で、司祭は棺を
見下ろし、それから空を見上げそして言った。
『彼らは，終（つい）に一緒になった。』
これが、式典で、家族の一人を困惑させた。式典
の後で、司祭に質問した。
『神父さま、』彼は始めた。『貴方は墓地で、“彼ら
は終に一緒になった”と言いましたが、それはマリ
アと最初の夫のことですかそれともマリアと二番目
の夫のことですか？』

神父は彼をまじまじと見詰めて言います。
『私は彼女の足のことを話していたんです。』

足を閉じる暇も無かったというお話です・・・
