What factors do you think made you eligible (besides pure luck if that

I am slowly amassing the necessary documents and writing a short essay
in English and Japanese.
The guarantor is another issue (who wants to sponsor me). I have a
feeling that I will also be scruntinized for my choice of guarantor.
The key point being that I am not married.
Any insights would be appreciated.
