As you will sson find out I am new to photography and have very limited
knowledge. What I want to do is increase the zoom on my canon A70. It has
3.2MP and a 3x digital zoom plus a 3x optical zoom. I have been advised to
leave the digital zoom turned off as it decreases picture quality. The 3x
optical alone is pretty limited and I see from the manual there is a 2.4
telephoto lens that can be bought and by using the release button on the
body of the camera remove the current lens and use this in it's place.
My question is if I remove a 3x optical lens for a 2.4 telephoto lens surely
I am reducing the zoom ability of the camera. After all 2.4 is less than 3.
At this stage I am sure the more knowledgable members are having a good
laugh at me but please remember I am totally new to this and the terminology
of photography. I am sure I have got it wrong somewhere so any explaination
would be appreciated.
John.
