Very clever with the PayPal detour, I always wondered if that would work.

Not so coincidentally, we're also making the migration to ny with our little
6 month old.  We had enough mileage for just one business class upgrade...
but couldn't figure how to make it worth it for the 3 of us.  I'm green with
envy over the sumo family.  Even so, JAL was able to convert the mileage
into a credit for a couple man, so we're not complaining (though the base
fare was not the cheapest out there).  The baby fare (no seat) was only an
additional $100 or so.
