I'm not sure If I should be posting in this group as I do not live in
Japan (but plan to one day).

I have a question about Japanese addresses.

The address for Sony is (on their website) listed as "〒108-0075 東京都　港区
　港南1-7-1"

From this, I am able to get

"Postal Code 108-0075, Tokyo Metropolitan Area, Minato Ward, Kounan
1-7-1.

My question is, what is "kounan" in this address. I'm not able to find
much information on it. My best guess is it is the name of a smaller
Town (machi or cho) within the Minato ward. Is it possible to have a
city in a ward? (even though in Tokyo wards have the status of a
City).
