A friend has asked me the following, but I can't help since I don't use
Yahoo...

I am using Yahoo BB for my ADSL connection, which I installed myself
(Windows XP Professional). Now I am wondering if I did something wrong,
because an annoying balloon is appearing every few minutes near the task
tray stateing:

    Local Area Connection
    A network cable is unplugged.

Since I have no problems with surfing on the Internet and with sending
and receiving e-mails, the computer must be correctly connected to the
Yahoo BB modem. So I checked the Internet Connections under Control Panel
and found the following two connections installed (I remeber to installing
only the Yahoo! BB connection):

(1) Local Area Connection
    Enabled, Firewalled
Intel(R) PRO 1000 MT Network Connection

(2) Yahoo! BB
    Disconnected, Firewalled
    WAN Miniport (PPPOE)

The Yahoo! BB Connection (2) is not working if I disable (1). So I
checked the connection (1) with a right click, to obtain a pull-down menu. A
left click on Status in this pull-down menu shows:

    General
        Connection
            Status: Connected
            Duration: 10:25:20 (and increasing)
            Speed: 100.0 Mbps
        Activity:
                                        Sent Received
            Packets: 1.248 6.286 (and
increasing)

Does this mean that I am continuously connected to the Internet
(Microsoft I assume) if I switch on my computer? And what can I do to get
rid of this annoying balloon?

    Please help!!!!!
