Re: Olympus C-750 UZ anyone?
Got my wife a C-750 UZ a couple of weeks ago. Seems to be a very nice
camera.
Answers to your Qs:
1. Equivalent means you'll get just about the same viewing angle as
the "equivalent" 35mm lens. If you were to compare a picture taken
with a film 35mm lense and the C-750 UZ set at it's widest it would
look the same.
2. My wife hasn't had too much of a problem with focus.
3. A 10X zoom sounds wonderful, but think of what you have. You have
a fiarly smallish camera with a very long zoom (350 mm). In order to
get any kind of good picture you'd better be able to produce a really
stable "platform". A rule of thumb would be not to take a picture
with the shutter speed less than 1/350 second. (not too hard in
daylight, but almost impossible in doors). The minimum focus at 350
mm is probably around 15' to 20' (5 to 7 meters). Therefore, zooming
in on the mole on granny's check from one meter is out of the
question.
First thing I bought for my wife (after the 256 MB memory card) was a
monopod so she could hold the camera steady at big zooms.
It does produce some reasonably good images. The quality of the
pictures is entirely dependent on the photographer, not the camera.
Good luck.
