Nightlife abounds, of course. One night I met friends at Sketch, a
members-only club so hip I considered killing myself, but settled for
awestruck insouciance. The red West Bar walls had revolving
satellite-style installations and the bathrooms had white, egg-shaped
individual pee pods not unlike our street toilets. Really. Odd. Really
odd. The clientele was painfully trendy and, by the end of the night,
very drunk; style be damned, one woman danced about, rubbing up
against everything with a pulse.  The fat, bald gaijin guys wearing
chinos were happy at last.
