OK, you'll find that the Windows 2000 drivers and utilities will work fine
with XP. First, install the "ACPI" module :

.. then the power extension package :
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/tecra/t8000/windows-2000/power-extensions/tpe-t8000-win2k-en.zip

.. then the mobile extensions package :
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/tecra/t8000/windows-2000/mobile-extensions/tme-t8000-win2k.zip

.. then the utilities package for good measure :
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/tecra/t8000/windows-2000/utilities/utils-t8000-win2k-en.zip
Its important to install the "ACPI" (also known as the "Value Added Logical
Device module) first.
