I don't give a flying fag about what USED to be. Uhhh...no. The outcast class became outcast because they performed "distasteful" and "dirty" work, such as leather tanners, butchers, and the like. They weren't outcast for *eating* meat. They were outcast for *working with dead animals*. Get your shit straight before you go off acting like a history expert. > > The eta (burakumin) issue is a Buddhist thing, not a Japanese thing. > > Granted, it's mostly only in Japan this stupidity happened, but let's be > > clear on it being a *religious persecution issue*. > > 90% of the Japanese are the Buddhists that hate abusing animals. Only Etas > and Koreans are Christians butchering mammals. I'm not even TOUCHING that blatantly bullshit comment. ...no, I take that back. I *will* touch that. 1. 90% of the Japanese are WHAT, now? In the first place, there is no such chunk of the Japanese populace that subscribes to ANY particular religion, and the largest chunk to be found anywhere would be Shinto, which is NOT, contrary to popular belief, Buddhism. 2. I'm sorry, but there are Christians in Japan who are not burakumin or Korean. And there are burakumin and Koreans in Japan who are not Christian. And there are burakumin, Koreans, AND Christians in Japan who don't butcher ANYTHING. So, um...gee, you don't really have a valid argument, do you? -- This post brought to you by Dammitol.
