It is a device that plugs into one of the USB slots - the other end terminates in a box that has been designed for memory cards. If you go down this route make sure that the card reader accepts your memory card type. To make matters just a little bit better there are multi card readers that will accept CF1 CF2 SD MMC XD ... They are not too expensive with retail costs between £10 and £40 (don't pay more than £20 and make sure it is USB 2 and can take at least 6 different kinds of memory card including your own. Now why go down that route? Card reader transfer rates are a lot quicker than direct from device transfer rates.
