Re: help with inscription on Japanese sword
The Japanese characters in my original post seem to have displayed as
mojibake -- my apologies.
The inscription reads 太安道 [futoru no "ta" / antei no "an" / dooro no
"doo"] and I was wondering if a reading such as おおのやすみち [oo no
yasumichi] might be possible (following the example of 太安麻侶 , おおのやす
まろ [oo no yasumaro], for example).
I'm sending this post with JIS encoding...I hope it displays properly now.
If not, perhaps the web link will be sufficient! Thanks again -- SS
