I dunno, even though my keitai usuage is pathetically frugal, I still can't
imagine trying to function in modern Japan without a mobile telephone.
Especially when it comes to staying in touch with Japanese friends. Plus, I
have my classroom number forwarded to my keitai these days - we all know how
crap Japanese are at leaving messages on an answerphone. During the school
summer vacations it's nice to know beforehand when my entire five o'clock
class aren't going to show up - I can go back to bed!

My wife an I both use AU. They have a family discount plan, plus you can
specify three frequently called numbers to get a further discount.
