In Japan 4,000$ isn't that much. In the states that would be something different then. The ticket is just a tax to abuse the speed limits. If you can afford to pay it, I figure speed as much as you want in Japan. Espcially if you don't have to worry about having points on your drivers's license, ie. make sure you have an international license and spell your name with katakana differently every time you have business with the police, that way they never know who you are.
