just a long shut but...did you try just plug the camera in (when PC already 
running) and wait until is installed and not clicking that message bubble. 
Just wait until that "new hardware" icon in the tray dissapears.
you can also try control panel/advanced/ boot and restore settings and 
uncheck "reboot automatically" (words can somewhat differ since i translate 
from local language)
