There are times I actually believe that Kaz might be Japanese, whose rants against the world are caused by his own abject poverty, but the above statement makes me wonder if he/she might not simply be a Chinese troll trying to make the Japanese look bad. There are two things really telling about the above statement my Kaz. The first thing that really is a give-away to the fact that Kaz might not have ever visited Japan is his statement that "Beef used to be only for those snobbish Kobe type." That is like saying that no one drives an automobile in Los Angeles except for the movie stars. Beef is ubiquitous in Japan, from Hokkaido, to Tokyo, to Osaka, to Kyushu. MacDonalds, MOS Burgers, and a variety of other hamburger chains are found even in the smaller cities and towns. Also, there are a wide variety of Japanese-style restaurants serving beef. Grilled beef on a skewer is often sold in stands wherever there are festivals. In addition to beef, chicken, pork, and other types of meat are quite popular. Even horse meat is sold in some sushi restaurants. While there are vegetarian restaurants here, they are not the norm. The second thing that really is a give-away to the fact that Kaz might not have ever visited Japan is his use of the term "snobbish Kobe type pseudo-Westerner Etas(burakumins)." Burakumin form one of Japan's largest minority groups, and have been subjected to prejudice and discrimination for centuries. To use the adjective "snobbish" with the noun "burakumin" shows a disconnect with reality, like talking about those "snobbish people on welfare." Not all burakumin are poor, but they are definitely in an inferior position in Japan, thus the use of the word snobbish in that context makes no sense.
