Their is some good stuff on Japanese TV, once you get pass the multitude of
"talent" programs where celebrities either have quiz games, or sample
various restaurants, or stupid reenactments with gaijin talents.

For instance, NHK's current samurai drama about Yoshitune and Yoritomo is
pretty good. I particularly liked the legendary meeting of Yoshitune and
Benkei, which was beautifully photographed with falling cherry blossoms.
