Re: Satellite 2715 + WinXP SP2
Thanks for the detailed tutorial Frisco.
I reverted back to Win98 for now so I am just looking for some assurances if
I try again.
I think I pretty much did all that you described except for the Windows
Update.
I tried an NetGear card [which had a driver CD] and an Orinoco card [which
WinXP seemed to recognize]. Both power lights came on and the transmit
lights flickered a bit. Then nothing.
Device manager reports that they are enabled.
Turned ZeroConfig service off/on/, etc.
They just don't see the WiFi network that is present. [Another computer
further away is logged n + no problem in same locaton when I went back to
Win98.]
I'd have tried Windows Update, but there's the catch: no WiFi: no update.
My thought was more that this dated Satellite might have had some aversion
to WinXP SP2 since the cards are fine under Win98.
Thank you for the comments!
