Primary function will be to serve as my stereo in the truck. I have
little use for a walkman-type device employed in normal walkman-type
situations.

I have a DC-AC converter running from the cigarette lighter (24Vdc to
100Vac) which will power the unit and a set of computer speakers.

Up until now, I have been using the type of CD-walkman which will also
play mp3s. While it has been good, there are just so many points where
the capacity and flexibility of a hard drive unit will leave it in the
dust.
