>Politicians block comic over 'fake' Nanjing Massacre tale

"Thirty-seven members of local assemblies"

Interesting that the last word is plural, don't you think?

Could that possibly mean that 37 members of some nationwide uyoku
nutcase organization(s) who have somehow managed to get elected to the
lowest possible rung of political office have protested? And that the
publishers are more cowed by fear of reprisals from their kook uyoku
buddies than they are by the offended sensibilities of 37 scattered
local petty officials?

And, in the interest of journalistic accuracy, is "Politicians block
comic" an accurate headline? Certainly they took no official action
that forcibly restrained the publishers. They haven't the authority to
do so, even if they want to.
