I think these problems are a fact of life pretty much everywhere. In
the US there are communities that don't like the 'intrusion' of people
from within the same nation, regardless of race/religion/etc. I'm sure
a sociologist would have a good, intelligent-sounding explanation for
it. Japan is no different, and while often it bothers me a great deal
the way Japanese deal with this issue, the individual feelings I
understand, considering it to be human nature (to an extent). What
makes me mad is when governments endorse and encourage racist
behavior, actively or passively.
