I am going to stick with baseball (or at least the local variant of
it.)  The only bits about
the WC that interest me are the mathematics behind the elimination
rounds.  E.g. who
needs to defeat who and by how much?  Should this team take a dive to
go in as a second
place in the next block for an easier time etc.

Beyond that, meh.  I lost interest in soccer about the time of the
1986 WC.
