This must be one of the few countries in the world where being
described as having a RORIKON would be taken as a complement more
often than not.

But anyway, on prime time telly another special has a segment on
"Dollers", guys with life-size manniquins often with manga-style faces
that they liked to take photos of.

It started out semi-innocently enough, a bunch of guys with cameras
taking snaps of the dolls around some flat or other. It looked a bit
artistic, I suppose, although the guys seemed a bit too otaku-ish and
over-enthusiastic. They went back to one guy's flat, and he had 10-15
of them in his collection, and racks and racks of clothes, mostly
manga schoolgirl style. Warning bells started ringing in my head, then
they looked at the dolls closer, and they were fully latex-covered,
fully articulated models. When he mentioned he had one from the US
that cost about a million yen - Japanese models were about half a
million - I suddenly realised they were a large collection of
RealDolls! He's got a room full of sex toys! He mentioned because he
takes them outside for photo sessions they were just like his children
to him. Heaven help any real kids he might spawn at some point!

Do a search for "DO-RA-" (in katakana) on Google and see what turns
up...
