I use the S-Video TV Out connector on my Toshiba laptop to connect to
the S-Video input on my large LCD TV. I normally set it up so the TV
is a "clone" so I can see the videos on both computer and TV screens
as identical.

It works fine displaying the computer screen on the TV, all open
windows etc, and when playing avi, mpeg, mov etc videos in the
appropriate player (WinDVD4, Nero Showtime, Windows media player,
quicktime player, realplayer, DivX player etc) window.

But the TV will not display DVD's being played on the computer or
videos encoded in DivX or XviD. The player window is displayed OK on
the TV, but the window contents are just black, although the DVD or
video is playing happily on the computer screen, which is otherwise
identical to the TV screen.

I don't see how it could be a codec problem as the videos and DVDs
play happily on the computer.

Anyone have any idea of the problem or the fix?

TIA
