unpopular president in modern American history.
A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Thursday indicates
that 71 percent of the American public disapprove of how Bush his
handling his job as president.
"No president has ever had a higher disapproval rating in any CNN or
Gallup poll; in fact, this is the first time that any president's
disapproval rating has cracked the 70 percent mark," said CNN Polling

Students Cook Up Recipe To Nix Pain At Pump
Thursday, 01 May 2008 12:24
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Two men have found a way to never have to show up at a
gas station. They are instead cleaning out grease tanks to fill up their
car tanks.
"Driving by the fuel signs and see $4.30 a gallon, it's kind of nice not
having to stop there and pay them that," University of Central Florida
student Eric Williams said.
Williams and his friends got tired of paying at the pump.
"With the fuel prices increasing so high, it makes you notice how much
you're spending on fuel," UCF student Chad Heinrich said.
They needed an idea. The mechanical engineering students cooked up a
recipe by looking no farther than the University of Central Florida
Chick-fil-A.

White House admits fault on 'Mission Accomplished' banner
Thursday, 01 May 2008 10:12
After shifting explanations, the White House eventually said the
"Mission Accomplished" phrase referred to the carrier's crew completing
its 10-month mission, not the military completing its mission in Iraq.
Bush, in October 2003, disavowed any connection with the "Mission
Accomplished" message. He said the White House had nothing to do with
the banner; a spokesman later said the ship's crew asked for the sign
and the White House staff had it made by a private vendor.
"President Bush is well aware that the banner should have been much more
specific and said `mission accomplished' for these sailors who are on
this ship on their mission," White House press secretary Dana Perino
said Wednesday. "And we have certainly paid a price for not being more
specific on that banner. And I recognize that the media is going to play
this up again tomorrow, as they do every single year."
TVNL Comment: "Shifting explanations"? What the hell does that mean? How
many ways can the media avoid using the term "lied"?

Justice Official Who Oversees Cases On Corruption, Fraud Is Quitting
Thursday, 01 May 2008 10:09
Alice S. Fisher, chief of the Justice Department's criminal division,
said yesterday that she will leave government service at the end of the
month after nearly three years overseeing major public corruption and
corporate fraud cases.
TVNL Comment: This must be the laziest person in human history. Our
government and our corporations are one big crime family and nothing is
stopping them. This person must have been watching FOX News instead of
doing her job.

Iraqi MPs call Maliki 'depraved'
Thursday, 01 May 2008 09:50
Iraqi deputies have denounced the government, using a quotation from the
Koran to describe Prime Minister Nouri Maliki as "depraved".
The criticism came from the bloc of MPs who support the Shia cleric
Moqtada Sadr - which once backed Mr Maliki.
Iraqi troops and US-led foreign forces have been engaged in bloody
battles with Mehdi Army fighters loyal to Moqtada Sadr over recent weeks.
Nine people died on Thursday in a Baghdad bomb blast aimed at US troops.
