That's what I figure. I actually think it'd be a great place to live.
It's somewhat in the middle of both Kansai and Tokyo and has
relatively easy access to both decent beaches and good skiing.

That might be cool; I'm big into pottery myself (making it, that is)
so this looks pretty interesting. My wife's uncle is a potter in Gifu
and I might convince him to let me sit at his knee for a day.
In another NG someone suggested the castle as a decent place to meet
my friend; there's a garden and cafe there, and I've never been to
that castle. I've been to many other castles, but never that one, so I
might add it to the list. It can't be worse than Atami's.
