Been a while since your post Mark, but I just got my S50. Guess what,
the only way that I've just figured out is by buying a Canon photo
printer (I wonder why). I picked up a Canon i860 for $149 at Frys,
still annoyed by the fact that Canon won't let the date imprint, &
voila! To my surprise there's a function in the included software to
turn on the date/time! The printer is GREAT, so I wouldn't call it too
much of a trap, especially since to 2 picoliter droplet size really
minimizes ink usage.
