You need a Volt Ohm multimeter! First check the power cord for voltage, and
continuity. Then check the output voltage of the adapter. If no output
voltage it's the adapter, if good, then the problem is in the computer. You
just go on testing from stage to stage from there. Without instruments, or
known good parts to substitute, there is no way to be sure.
