I think there are even far less number of the Japanese try to get
American citizenship than the number of Americans try to become
naturalized Japanese citizens, though. Japanese American society is
shrinking very much. Actually no Japanese try to naturalize American
citizens after the WW2, except those war bride things. The war bride
thing is a particular phenomenon, so actually no single Japanese male
ever gets American citizenship, I think. Those Japanese Americans
existing now in North America are the descendants of those who had
immigrated before 1920. So your idea is somewhat strange. I think even
most of those war brides actually don't even have American
citizenship, though. They just have those called "green cards" or
something. Anyway, also it's quite hard, almost impossible for the
Japanese to get American citizenship unless one is born in America. I
think American to become Japanese citizen is far more easier than the
Japanese to get American citizenship.
