I did get a response from them, but it was mainly the usual "check your
audio device settings and try calling echo123" business. In other words,
they were not really addressing the SkypeOut problem specifically.
I also poked around in the Skype forums. There seem to be some people
who are having problems similar to ours, and their standard response
seems to be this:
"The problem is likely with the gateway providers not your setup.
The only solution besides waiting is to:
Report each failed call to pstn-feedback@skype.net with your location,
time of day of call and the complete phone number you were calling and
of course what happened. Without this information there is not much
Skype can do to fix your problem."
I still have about $8.50 worth of SkypeOut credit, and I plan to keep
making test calls once a day until it runs out. The longest call
duration I have managed so far is about one minute.
In the meantime, why don't you Skype me sometime and we can see how the
delay is between Tokyo and Okazaki?
