I presume that you mean that the computer reboots when you say "it turns-off
& restarts the PC".

That sounds like there is a glitch in your Windows Registry.

Unfortunately there is no way that you can fix such a glitch (if there is
one) yourself.

There are a few tools to correct problems in the Registry. The only one I
would recommend is Registry Mechanic from PC Tools.

http://www.pctools.com/

The programme can be downloaded from this site and the licence fee is about
USD30.00.

As you have already pointed out, the drivers on the CD are for Windows 98
systems only.

Windows XP should automatically recognise any USB camera when it is
connected and install any USB drivers if required.

The ULead software has nothing to do with Win XP recognising the camera.

With my own camera, I just hook it up and use a "file manager" to transfer
the files to the computer, just as if the camera is another hard disk or
drive.

That is the way your system should work.

You could try Start/System/Add Hardware but if the registry does have a
glitch then I doubt it will work.
