Hi,
I buyed a digital camera, the Panasonic NV-DS77EG through ebay, but Windows
XP (and Windows 2000 too) doesn't see it when i connect it with the dv out
port, on the firewire card.
Windows don't say NOTHING when i connect it!

I tryed on my notebook (an Acer TravelMate 630xv) firewire port, on another
notebook, and on my desktop pc with an Hamlet PCI firewire adapter (3 ports,
IEEE 1394 OHCI compatible, detected by windows as VIA 1394 OHCI Compliant
Host Controller, or anything like this, i can't rember with more precision).

The strange thing is that, if i connect the firewire cable first, and then i
power on the PC (with the digital camera already powered on), then, when
windows is started, if i power off the camera (or disconnect the cable) then
windows finds the 1394 Net Adapter, and put it under Network Adapter in
Device Management!..

No Microsoft DV Camera & VCR or other similar are installed when i plug in
the camera....so if i use an application like Windows Movie Maker or Studio
DV (Unlead) or similar, they say that there isn't video device installed,
and then i cannot capture anything!

I tryed with Windows XP, XP SP1, XP2, and Windows 2000.

There are anyone who has this digital camera and work correctly?

Anyone know if Firewire Adapter with VIA chipset are incompatible with this
digital camera? (all the firewire adapter i tried was VIA, not Texas
Instruments or other manufactures).

I hope that the DV out of my digital camera is not damaged :(....... what i
can do for verify that it is not damaged? there is a method to esclude that?
I tried putting my tongue (don't smile please!! :) on the other side of
firewire cable, when it was connected to the camera, and there is some
corrent (i feel the typical taste of "electricity")....if the DV port is
damaged i will able to feel that or not?.

Ah, the cable firewire is not corrupted, because connecting the hamlet
adapter to the notebook adapter they can communicate in a 1394 Lan.

Pleaaaaaaase help meeeeee :
