Mars,

I lived in Japan for almost 7 years and found that the cherry blossoms were
blooming for about 1 week.
I thought they would last much longer, but the warm climate makes it that
they fade away after about 1 week.
Ofcourse if you travel you can follow the cherry blossom date line and go
furthermore North, so that you can travel with the Cherry blossom date line
as far as Hokkaido.

Hope you will enjoy it.
The chery blossom usually starts around 27 March (Tokot,Kyoto) and blossom
until the end of April the further you go to the North.

Giny
(now living in Amsterdam where the cherryblossom lasts 2-2,5 weeks, as our
climate gets milder much slower than in Japan)
