I live in Okazaki (Aichi prefecture). We are users of Chubu Electric
Power, therefore NO power cuts. Zero zip none. Nor to any areas to our
west. Some power supplies are being transferred from the Kansai (Osaka
etc) and Chubu (Nagoya etc) networks to the east & north, but there
are only 3 transmission points available. These are Shin-Shinano
(Nagano), Sakuma & Higashi-Shimizu (both in Shizuoka to Okazaki's
east), transmitting a maximum of 600,000KW, 300,000KW and 100,000KW
respectively. Since Okazaki and the rest of the Chubu regions (and all
regions west) operate on 60Hz, whereas all of the areas affected by
the earthquake operate on 50Hz, we are basically fine. Democratic?
Well no, but also not exactly no.

No whining from me (but if Charles could pass the cheese please).
