I read somewhere that there isn't expected to be a huge backlash since
the guy went there as a tourist. Seems a lot of Japanese recognize that
as a boneheaded thing to do. Doesn't mean he deserved what he got; from
what I read his intentions were mostly positive in that he wanted to
find a way to help the Iraqi people. That's what made me initially think
he was related to the group that was captured and released a few months
back. Imagine the pain his family's going through.
