How many companies in your home country would act as a guarantor for a 
new employee? At best some of the better ones might have corporate 
housing that they'd put you up in, if you're a truly special employee.

And most likely they wouldn't do it for a Japanese employee either, so 
take some comfort in that. You might ask for a week in a hotel or something.
