I define a diary as something written for yourself (and possibly a
handful of close friends/family etc), but I'm prolly just an old fart on
such matters. The few blogs I follow aren't so much diaries as polemics.

I only read one Japanese blog, and I'm not sure if the locals
distinguish between the two. 日記 is everywhere, so I guess not (and
"nainjanai kana" - was the response from the *voice of authority*).
