I stopped by the 麻生区 branch yesterday, and lo and behold, there was
_Against_All_Enemies_, right on the shelf. Okay, so they were rather slow
about it (at least 6 weeks), but it's there now, and in the computer system
and everything. If I was a some sort of a cynic, I'd speculate about
"external pressure factors", but let's face it, they probably never even
found out about the discussion here. ;-) (Still, I'm strongly obligated to
post this public apology.)

However, I'd still like to know about the best public libraries around
Tokyo, and it actually might make a decision in my next move.... My "life
pattern" has been to move every couple of years, but I've been here many
years now, and I'm starting to feel antsy. Also, I'm just too close to my
office, so there's not enough study time on the trains... I still think 板橋
区 had the overall best public library system of the 20 or 30 that I've
investigated in Japan.

Given my typical reception around this place, that's your cue for a string
of "We have the worst public library in the world here" posts. (Actually, I
think 中央区 and 文京区 were probably the worst I've seen here, but that's
actually a complicated topic, and anyway I'm not considering those venues.)

By the way, is anyone else having problems posting to Asahi-Net's news3
server?
