JR Chuo Line (Tokyo) service disruptions on the night of July 18 -19
JR Chuo Line will not operate between Higashi-Koganei and Kokubunji from around
0 AM midnight to 6 AM morning, July 19th (Mon, Hol). Fewer trains than usual
will run other sections west of Mitaka during these hours.
Substitute buses will run, but they are likely to be slow and crowded.
Passengers boarding from around 4:30 AM will be allowed to use parallel lines
(Seibu, Keio, Odakyu and Tama Monorail) with JR pass or ticket. This privilege
will not be granted to passengers during 0:00 AM - 1:30 AM.
The eastbound Narita Express 3 will start from Shinjuku instead of the usual
Takao on the morning of July 19th.
We remember that last time this happened, on September 28th 2003, JR couldn't
get the job done by schedule, and it took hours for this news to reach the
stations. Service was down until well past noon.
JR hotline: 042-528-0070 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
