I'll admit that I was asking for the technicalities, since it just seems
odd that one law says 'this person is your legal guardian and you can
stay with them and they'll protect you' (maybe I'm assuming too much
about what 'guardian' means) and another law says 'you have no legal
right to stay in this country'.
