About the only legitimate complaint is some noise in the image, at higher ISO settings. These are there, primarily because Canon chose not to filter them out, as some cameras do. You can do that after the fact, with software. Don't get overwhelmed by all the features, and settings. That's why it's called "Pro". It offers a lot of control over how the picture is taken, and it can add to a lot of personal creativity, and satisfaction, once you become familiar with it. Until then, shoot on full auto mode, until you have the time to read, and understand the manual, and explore the possibilities. The momentary freeze you mentioned, is normal, as that captured instant, is what is being used, to adjust the camera for the conditions that exist at that precise moment. Again, you'll get used to it. The lens on the PowerShot Pro1 is Canon's famous "L" series glass! This means it specially constructed, using fluorite, and ultra-low dispersion glass. Even cameras in the $10,000.00 price range, will have pro's, and con's. What's important is, what do you think? I think some of the negative feedback this camera has had, is due to inexperience, and not taking the time to properly learn how to use it. Yes, I own one!
