Chinese held over kidnapping speak fluent Japanese

SHENYANG, China (Kyodo) Three Chinese men detained over
the kidnapping of a Japanese man here all speak fluent
Japanese, informed sources said Sunday.

Maybe criminal gangs in the future will be able to
address Japanese victims properly, saying "Kane wo
dase!" or "Kinko wo akero!"

Man charged for 100 yen theft
Crime really doesn't pay.

Hoping to nip a growing trend in the bud, authorities
Sept. 30 charged a Tokyo man with stealing old
newspapers from a trash disposal site.

The haul was allegedly worth 100 yen.

The criminal mastermind was spotted by police stealing
the old newspapers early Aug. 20 and questioned.

The horror . . . The horror . . .

Considering Japan has such a glut of recyclable paper
that recycling companies take a loss must PAY to get
rid of shiploads of it in say, South Korea, because
there is not a market for it in Japan, they should be
glad that someone is cutting down on Japanese waste.
