Are you starting to get that you will not actually see it yourself, yet, even
if it happens with you there?

I am so sorry to hear that nothing was done. I've only known one woman to make
a report, days after the fact. This was a guy who followed her off the train
all the way to her parked bicycle in the dark outside, and she actually had to
use her bicycle to block his way from coming at her and scare him off. She was
visibly shaken for some time (it was near the time she left the country). The
police were fairly sensitive, but of course nothing could really be done. It
was those police then who told me what was being reported on that particular
train line.
It was right out to the street fronting the main station, on the main train
line. I am sure there were tens of people on the train, and hundreds of people
around them off the train and outside while the man pursued her. But no one
saw anything or did anything. And the victim was too scared to react or get
help, as well.
Would you believe a woman doesn't have to attract attention or be squirming,
wincing, grimacing, or angry, pointing or screaming, in noticeable reaction to
being assaulted by a chikan, John, or meet any of your definitions of how a
victim or witnesses if any "should" react to convince you that a crime is
occurring?
