What to buy?
Hi
Before I buy a digital camera, I have a few questions.
1) I would like to know about Linux support for digital cameras and
their memory card readers. Which ones are fully supported? Which ones
are partially supported? Is then the info on a card mounted as a filesystem?
2) Cameras use many different memory cards that can have different
sizes. Are any memory cards in any way better than others? What are the
maximum sizes available?
3) My friend's camera stores images as .jpg - do all do that? For the
camera to be able to display the picture that hasn't been taken with
that camera (transfered from a PC to a memory card) - how do I know what
version of .jpg etc. I should use?
4) Which makes of digital cameras are good value for money?
5) How many pixels did they reach so far? Colour depth?
6) Are there cameras that use tapes instead of memory cards (and store a
lot more info - pictures in high quality)?
