1) Absolute Beginner's Guide
This guide assumes you have never played guitar before. If you have
played a little bit, feel free to jump in at whatever lesson seems like
the next step for you.
Guitar Tricks has over 40 different instructors, all with their own
style and approach. Once you have learned the techniques presented on
this page, you will be able to make use of all the rest of our 2500+
lessons.
Since Guitar Tricks is a compilation of lessons from many different
instructors, some of the material in one lesson of this guide will
overlap material in other lessons. The repetition in the Absolute
Beginner's Guide is intentional, it will help you to remember and
reinforces your learning.

3) CROSSROADS-SOLO 1 (8 Lessons with VIDEO) - Doug Fearman
Eric Clapton re-did Robert Johnson's Crossroads in 1969. It was a
powerful blues-rock redition of the Delta classic. Clapton takes a
number of solos during the song. Below is the audio version of solo -1.
I want to emphasize that this version is not a perfect note-for-note
rendition of Mr. C's. It is, however, close enough to get you started.
Solo 1 starts with "pickup" notes. These 6 notes are played when the
rhythm section is playing the last 2 beats of the 12th measure on the
E7 chord.
Although the audio version below contains the entire 1st solo; this
solo is played piece-by-piece using video lessons contained in this
tutorial.

4) Pulling your strings - J.D. Jarrell
This is a bending lick on the (G) third, and (D) fourth string, but
you're actually pulling the strings to bend them. This is a good
exercise to work on this technique, and it sounds like you're using a
bender. When you do your pull off at the second fret, just put your
index finger back down and pull the string. The third bend is all pull
offs, and for the last bend I use my ring finger.

6) Simple Chord Songs - La Villa Strangiato Schmange
This is the buildup at the beginning of the song. This riff is
amazingly easy to play, however it's also deceptively difficult at the
same time.
It's easy because it's just one chord. It's hard because you have to
repeat the same picking riff numerous times without making a mistake.

to review some basics about jazz chords and chord construction.
